Sea Around Us team in Senegal. CMSY workshop. Partnership with MAVA Foundation
The IOF’s research and outreach engagement activities are made possible through a global network of partners, colleagues, sponsors, associations, and collaborators. Key colleagues are listed here in accordance to their affiliation with an IOF research unit.
Some collaborations span multiple units.
Our projects are conducted through equal, ethical relationships with Indigenous Nations and Organizations. We work alongside our partners to co-design research agreements and objectives so that our projects are responsive to community needs, interests, laws, and protocols. Good relations are key to doing this work together, but building them takes time. With this, we are committed to creating long-standing, continuous relations with the Indigenous Peoples we partner with.
- Some of our other-than-human relations we work with include Pacific Salmon, Eulachon, Dungeness Crab, Sea Lamprey, and American Eel.
- Our projects are conducted on, but not limited to, the territories of the Nisg ̱ a’a, Nuu-chah-nulth, Stó:lō, Tŝilhqot'in, Cowichan, and W̱ SÁNEĆ in so-called British Columbia, as well as the Anishinaabeg, Kanien'kehá:ka, and Mi’kmaw in Eastern and Atlantic Canada.
