Emily Brown

Research Assistant

Pelagic Ecosystems Laboratory

What I do

My work is focused on land-sea connectivity, based in the Fraser River and the downstream ecosystems that it connects to. I am currently investigating the nutritional quality of intertidal biofilm in the Fraser River estuary for migratory shorebirds, which feed at the tidal flats in this region. In 2024 I completed my M.Sc. focused on the effects of wildfire in the Fraser River basin on coastal ocean chemistry in the Salish Sea.
