MSc, OCF

Thesis Topic

My thesis work focuses on zooplankton assemblage dynamics in the Strait of Georgia and their function as a crucial prey resource for juvenile salmon and other forage fish. My research uses semi-automated image processing to assess the seasonal, inter-annual, and spatial dynamics of nearshore zooplankton assemblages and their relationship to oceanographic properties and environmental conditions, including human disturbance. This research aims to inform our understanding of prey fields for juvenile salmon and forage fish and contribute to the development of accessible semi-automated imaging technology for zooplankton monitoring.
