The Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries now offers non-credit courses.
The Vancouver Summer Program is a four-week summer experience, focused on providing Canadian and international undergraduate students with a grounding in ocean leadership.
Our Extended learning portfolio includes a Micro-certificate in Analytics for Leaders in Ocean Management, as well as courses introducing “The Sustainable Blue Economy” and “Communicating Ocean Science”; part-time online courses for professionals and researchers working with marine or freshwater resources.
We also offer the IOF mini-School, a two-week dive into Marine Science, part of the UBC Future Global Leaders on-campus program for high school students ages 15–18. This is attended live, by either a ‘commuter’ or ‘residence’ option.
