Developing solutions to the anthropogenic impacts that are affecting the seas and our marine resources

The Changing Ocean Research Unit (CORU) studies the effects of global climate and ocean changes on marine ecosystems, biodiversity and fisheries. Our research integrates ecological, social, and economic perspectives to understand vulnerabilities, assess impacts, and develop solutions that support sustainable ocean ecosystems and food systems in a rapidly changing world.

CORU is seeking funding support to expand its research and global impact through:

  • Developing innovative analytical tools and modelling approaches to better understand how climate and ocean changes affect marine life and fish populations worldwide;
  • Expanding access to large-scale data and computational resources to advance research on climate impacts and identify effective mitigation and adaptation strategies; and
  • Empowering the next generation of ocean scientists, supporting students to share their research and innovations with the scientific community through conferences and events, and with the broader public through outreach and media engagement.

Your gift will help the Changing Ocean Research Unit (CORU) to continue to study how global climate and ocean changes affect the ecological, social, and economic vulnerabilities on marine ecosystems, biodiversity and fisheries.

How you can help

Your support of the Changing Ocean Research Unit Fund will help accelerate the discovery of solutions that safeguard ocean biodiversity, strengthen sustainable fisheries, and enhance the resilience of communities that depend on the ocean.
